Breaking & Entering into Thailand

Warren Sandler never found a game he couldn't hustle, a woman he couldn't charm, or a situation he couldn't talk his way out of... until he meets a beautiful woman with a few stories of her own.

That's the premise behind Breaking & Entering, the romantic comedy that's taking the independent film market by storm. In the past three weeks, Breaking & Entering won Best Feature Film at the 5th Annual Midwest Entertainment Industry Conference, was named an Official Jury Selection at the 2004 Cincinnati International Film Festival, and was represented at the American Film Market in Santa Monica by Inferno Film Productions, LLC.

The feature's first international sale was to Eureka Entertainment for the rights to Thailand - a country not usually known for buying independent comedies from the US. Darlene Cypser of Inferno believes this Asian sale bodes well for Breaking & Entering's long-term domestic and international prospects. "The common wisdom is that Asian countries do not buy American romantic comedies, but they did. I think that shows that the movie transcends cultures," said Cypser. Breaking & Entering is also being considered by several U.S. and European distributors. "I think this is just the beginning," concludes Cypser.

Based on the award-winning stage play distributed worldwide by Dramatic Publishing, the screen version of Breaking And Entering features surprising plot twists and an endless supply of lies, love, laughter and larceny.

Louisville, KY-based writer/director Vin Morreale, Jr's debut feature was shot and edited in the latest High Definition 24p Digital Format. Featuring a soundtrack including music from more than a dozen musical groups, as well as star-making turns from actors Joshua Loren and Jeni4 Jones, Breaking & Entering has already begun to charm audiences and gather positive buzz. In February 2004, Breaking & Entering broke box office records at its premiere with the largest single screening debut of any movie in the Southeast. More than 2,600 ticket holders packed the historic Louisville Palace Theater, with the first show's box office exceeding that of many studio pictures over an entire weekend, on a per screen basis. Morreale could not believe the turnout. "They came from all over Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio to see this movie, based solely on word-of-mouth. And they laughed out loud more than most big-studio movies."

And the timing seems to be right. "This year we saw a major burst of buyers looking specifically for romantic comedies," Trygve Lode of Inferno said. And those buyers are falling in love with Breaking & Entering.
