Darlene CypserDarlene Cypser is a woman of energy, imagination and intelligence. She is an attorney licensed in both Colorado and New York who has written fiction and non-fiction articles which have been published in newspapers, magazines and legal and scientific journals. She had taught courses and given lectures on a variety of subjects and she is listed in four volumes of Marquis' Who's Who. In early 1999 Darlene was in the process of starting up The Midgard Corporation when she was asked to help out with some problems with the production of Dragon and the Hawk. So began her journey in the world of film production and distribution. After forming Inferno Film Productions, LLC, with Trygve Lode and Mark Grove to produce Dragon and the Hawk, she completed the formation of The Midgard Corporation and several other businesses in the Midgard family including: Asgard Entertainment, LLC, Bifrost Distribution, LLC, Valkyrie Illumination, LLC, and Warrior Quest International, LLC. With her usual energy and adaptability, Darlene has embraced the world of filmmaking and is recognized for her expertize in the legal and business aspects of both production and distribution. She organized the "Legal Aspects of Film and Video Production Conference," sponsored by the Colorado Film and Video Association and Comcast, held in Denver, Colorado in September 2003 and was invited to speak on a panel about film distribution at the Midwest Entertainment Industry Conference in November 2003. She has since published articles in Indie Slate magazine and Advertising & Marketing Review on film distribution and legal and tax mattters related to the entertainment industry. Darlene practiced law in Boulder, Colorado from 1988 through 1999, specializing in small businesses, contracts, tax law, and landlord and tenant law. During that time period, Darlene also wrote several articles on legal subjects including the "Survey of Colorado Landlord and Tenant Law" published in the Colorado Lawyer in 1991 and a series of articles on the rights of single parents and "International Law & Policy of Extraterrestrial Planetary Protection," published by Jurimetrics Journal in 1993, "Liability for Induced Earthquakes," published by the Journal of Environmental Law & Litigation in 1994 and "Induced Seismicity and the Potential for Liability under U.S. Law" published by Tectonophysics in 1998. In 1998 she published the Handbook of Colorado Landlord and Tenant Law. Her annual Writer's Pocket Tax Guide is a popular reference for professional writers and in 2004 she added the Actor's Pocket Tax Guide, the Daycare Pocket Tax Guide, the Filmmaker's Pocket Tax Guide, the Publisher's Pocket Tax Guide, the Screenwriter's Pocket Tax Guide, and the Teacher's Pocket Tax Guide to the series. Darlene has had two Sherlockian essays published in the Baker Street Journal: "A Capital Mistake: An Apocryphal Rebuttal," and "Barker, The Hated Rival," and her short story, "The Biker," was publish by the Boulder Camera in October 1992. Between producing and selling motion pictures, Darlene is currently working on new edition of the Handbook of Colorado Landlord and Tenant Law, developing several movie scripts, and writing a novel about Sherlock Holmes.
